Q: I'm most probably going to have to move to Indore and I want to know a little more about the new infrastructure projects that are going to be undertaken here. Does the Indore Municipal Corporation have big plans for revamping the city?
Hi all, Few days back Lok Sabha Speaker and local MP Sumitra Mahajan, on Monday called on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in the State capital and discussed various city-centric issues with him. issues like purification of two rivers so that the devotees won’t face any problems during the Simhastha fair. Tai also stressed on beautification and development of Lalbaug palace. Tai requested the Chief Minister to develop proper infrastructure facilities for the city by means of construction and maintenance of the flyovers and other routes of the city.
Hey yes I remember this. Some of the areas that were going to be developed were Bada Ganpati, Agrasen, Pardeshipura, Gopur and Malwa Mill Square. But I don't think anything has happened yet at all. That's why I think this is a new proposal made by the authorities. Many contractors didn't want to take up the work because of the unpleasent attitude from the corporators, many political issues and the pressure from the Indore Municipal Corporation officals related to work completion. Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself, but let's see what happens..
I know the sound of this project is extremely appealing but do you remember the proposed project from the chief minister last year in Indore? Under the chief minister's infrastructure project, atleast 30 squares of the city were to be beautified by providing footpaths, streetlights, more greenery and all those works. Even BRTS corridor was one of the areas to be given this facelift. No contractor was interested in taking up this project at all for the longest time. So I don't know when this beautification project is going to end up getting completed.
I actually feel that there's a lot that can be done in Indore to really make it develop in terms of tourism and development. There are a number of these parks so this should hopefully be converted to a tourist destination pretty soon. They say there are 21 places in Indore that have already been identified to develop, and these beautification processes are supposedly going to be completed at least by the time the present mayor in office is going to be there.
Yeah some of the places in Indore that are going to get a facelift are Yashwant Sagar, Pipliyahana pond, Nehru Park, Pitra Parwat and Sirpur ponds. MPTDC is going to taken on the beautification works as well as adding and modifying existing infrastructure facilities and also providing more. Along with this the Corporation is also going to give a makeover to all the picnic spots,to make it more green and clean. Other places to benefit from this project are Bilawali pond, Sirpur pond, Pitra Parwat, Lalbagh Palace, Sanjay water reservoir, Kaal Kund, Rajwada, Pataal Pani, Choral dam, Choral village picnic spot, Tincha fall, Sitlamata Dall, Kekria Dabri, Ratwi picnic spot, Ambajhar, Jaamgate, Bamnia kund and Menhdi kund.
Hey there! This is a great time to be moving to Indore as the property market is doing really well and turnout rates are quite good. Also the Indore Municipal Corporation does have a number of projects its planned for Indore, especially in areas that can be turned to look really picturesque and beautiful. Beautification of these picnic stops and recreation is going to be undertaken by the Corporation along with Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation at a cost of 24 crore. :)
