Q: Hi guys, I want to talk about the current situation in Indore regarding the Indore-Ratlam train lines. I heard there was a new train on this line, and pretty soon this one is going to be expanded soon.
I also feel that the railways would have to create extra capacities to carry the passengers on this route as to meet every day increasing demands. Atleast four trains should go towards Indore from Ratlam every day and four should return from Indore to meet out the requirements of the passengers’ rush
The traffic has increased a lot as the requirement for the Indore destination is very high from every area of Ratlam- Indore section. But I dont know how with the same capacity, the DEMU train is extended up to Indore. This capacity is not at all justified to meet the increased requirements.
When the DEMU started between Ratlam- Fatehabad in March, it was already fetching good traffic. Then recently they extended the train upto Indore with the opening of the new broad gauge line up to Laxmibai Nagar.
Yes definitely they need to add more coaches to this train. 5 coaches are in no way enough for so many passengers. There should be at least 12 to 14 coaches.
Presently the DEMU is running between Ratlam- Indore with seven coaches only. Lately there have been so many passengers, that this space is too less. We cant even stand properly, forget sitting.
Other than adding more trains, there is another demand from us passengers. We also want the current running train to have increased coach space. More coaches need to be added.
Yeah, so we are calling from the rail administration that there should be arrangements of another rake of DEMU so that more passengers can be accommodated. I think this will be a big boost for Indore properties prices as well, especially those close to the station, thanks to the DEMU project.
Much lesser time taken also! In three hours time the DEMU train is reaching to Indore while via Ujjain train like Awantika Express takes four hours time from Ratlam and same is the case of bus transportation.
I also prefer travelling on this route. I also feel that in coming days the demand will further increase, with more and more switching over to this particular mode of travelling
Oh yeah the ticket fare is cheaper. For going to Indore it is just costing Rs 30 by DEMU train while if one goes via Ujjain it costs Rs 60 and one goes by bus its costs Rs 125 to Rs 150 per passengers.
I think this initiative was a big hit. Now the passengers are demanding arrangements of additional train facilities on this route immediately from railaway administration.
Yeah, these new trains started running between Indore and Ratlam from 2 Oct. On first day only the sale of the ticket was 800 passengers. Now toh it has gone up to more than 3000.
