Development of basic amenities in private layout in Mysore

This is really a great initiative as it would lead to more people buying the land there. The real estate business of these layouts will also rise when such basic amenities like the water, electricity and roads are provided. But misappropriation of funds should be avoided as it happened under the JNNURM last time. Dustbins costing Rs. 5 crores were distributed to nearly 1.30 lakh households in the city for segregation of waste. There was huge corruption in this.

Hey, other facilities that are offered by the mysore corporation and the state govt include a COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT PLAN (CPD) of mysore. There was a decision to form at least 2000 housing sites as well as to develop a modern slaughter house that costs up to 38 crore rupees in Mysore. There is a plan to develop a solid waste management plant also for processing 200 tonnes of waste. Now, there is only one plant.

ya ya.. along with this decision of the karnataka govt. there was one more decision to clean up the central reservoir at Vijayanagar city. this is a very good move by the govt. because if you look at the condition of the reservoir, you can see that it is vulnerable for breach any time. along with this, work costing up to rs. 47 crores would be taken up for preventing it from developing cracks.

Hey, recently, i think there was some meeting and discussion for this with the mysore district in-charge minister. Following the instruction by the chief minister of Karnataka, there has been a decision to collect the betterment taxes from the residents of the private layouts.

oh, this is the situation everywhere. Private developers build the housing layouts without providing these basic facilities there. Now, the government has promised that there would be severe actions against the private developers if they fail to provide the basic facilities to the residents of newly forming layouts.

true, this initiative by the government is because of the fact that the private developers have formed more than a hundred housing layouts in and around the city of mysore. But, they have not provided the basic facilities that are required by the people living there such as the road facility, electricity, underground drainage system and the water supply.

i came to know that the government is decided to end the agreement with multiple private agencies for providing water to these residential layouts as well as to other places in the mysore city. Instead of these multiple agencies, the karnataka govt is insisting that the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and the Drainage Board will take care of the task of supplying drinking water in mysore city.

Yeah, there is. Recently it was in the news actually. The Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and the Mysore City Corporation has certain plans about this. That is, to develop the facilities needed by the people living in these private housing layouts of Mysore.
