Q: Ok so i want to know the condition of the waste treatment in Indore. Is there a system for it, or is it just being dumped? And are there any plans to deal with the situation better in the future. I want to invest in small cities like Indore, and I want to know if these new developmental projects are being undertaken to just improve the city's residential value.
The plan is to convert 60% of the garbage into reusable energy by the process of gasification. This process is also less polluting and requires lesser fuel compared to pyrolysis, which is another quite useful waste to energy conversion technique, but with some side-effects.
I think something like this is highly necessary, with the extra 200 metric tonnes of garbage coming in every day from the 29 villages. That extra waste will contribute to the existing garbage of 1000 metric tonnes per day from Indore city.
Another mentionable innovation regarding waste disposal in Indore is the 99MyCity app, which you can use to upload pictures of improper garbage disposal, along with time and location, and request for it to be collected. So far its proving to be pretty effective.

So acc to the Auto Thermic representatives, a total of ten WTE plants would be built at the site so that they could be maintained on a revolving basis on days; like on Sunday for instance, when garbage generation is low.
Basically the company is just responding to the IMC wish to set up the WTE facility on a PPP basis. The IMC only will provide 10 acres of land and deliver garbage to the site. In return, it has asked the interested parties to submit bids stating whether they would operate on a zero sum or would pay/seek money from or to the IMC
I think the name of this Canadian firm is Auto Thermic Gassification Solution Ltd. They made a presentation in front of the divisional commissioner to elaborate what their plans for the city are. Everything is still in the proposal phase only though, no decision has been taken yet.
Yeah I heard about that waste to energy plant as well. So they are planning to model it in a private-public partnership module. I think now that the city's limits have been expanded to include 29 more villages, we'll seriously need a proper waste disposal system, because the present system is not working out at all
Ok I have some news regarding garbage treatment in Indore. This Canadian company has shown interest in setting up a proper waste treatment plant in the city. It will beconverting all the waste materials into usable energy, so if this actually happens, not only will Indore have taken care of its garbage problem, but also be able to produce extra energy
