Q: Hello, i am very much interested in things like the the current working status of transformers and electricals kerala( TELK). Can someone tell me about the same?
The way i see it, i think that the company is in dire need of a major rehaul. Considering that the competition is becoming so much harder, the way i see it is, that the only why to survive the competition is by constantly reinventing yourself.
Though there have been demands from workers’ unions to align the company with BHEL, the public sector unit engaged in transformer manufacture and allied business, no favourable response has been received from the authorities. Let's hope all this works out soon.
Yes, another trade union leader said the market conditions used to fluctuate. The unit had a record of varying fortunes depending mostly on the orders received from foreign countries. They said that the company has failed to meet the constant market changes.
While top brass of the company has not commented on the issues, a trade union leader had gone on record that the company had made losses, accusing the authorities of lack of vigilance to ensure proper functioning.
The market conditions have not shown signs of improvement during the current year. The competition had increased and imported transformers were made available at lower costs, according to some reliable sources. Trying times for the company.
Did you know that in addition to the problems mentioned in the comments below, , TELK is facing challenges in receiving new orders, liquidity crunch and higher establishment charges vis – a -vis same for the peer group
During the current challenging time, TELK is facing two confronting mandates i.e., mandate for profitability and mandate for growth and sustainability. This is the time, in my opinion for the company to implement some major changes, if it wants to come out on top.
Well, In the backdrop of continuing weak economic growth, the transformer industry is witnessing shrinkage in demand, cash flow problems and underutilisation of capacities. While changing the entire economy is obviously not under the company's control, it can adjust accordingly,
Yeah, it was achieved by close monitoring of the opportunities in the Oman market, active promotional activities and the interaction with the customers there, the company said in its annual report for 2013-14.
The net profit of the company for 2013-14 was Rs. 81.71 lakh as against Rs. 158.53 lakh during the previous year. The export sales turnover was Rs. 3,715 lakh. I think the company is in need of some major changes.
As far as i know, though the company’s annual results will be out only after the end of the fiscal, there were indications of reduced sales revenue, according to industry sources. That is a worrying factor for the company
Hey, Transformers and Electricals Kerala Limited (TELK), Angamaly, a joint venture company of Government of Kerala and NTPC Limited, is facing tough competition in the domestic and international markets which could lead the unit to slip into losses during the current financial year.
