You know what it is really not an easy decision for the corporation. The corporation faces a tough situation. While one section of public complain against traffic congestion another protests against losing their livelihood. Even though we removed the hawkers they would return soon.

The Chairman of the town planning committee has said that he has asked the lead engineers to actually get the hawkers thrown away from these places because traffic problem is their ut most priority. So expect some action to be taken regarding that soon.

The councillor of the area has also said that as public works department (PWD) has not completed construction of a drain along the Edappally Ragahavan Pillai road they fear that it could become an accident prone zone. When there's rains people can not see the roads so that is a problem.

From the Raghavan Pillai Road, commuters will usually proceed through the ICCT road and head towards Aluva. While travelling through the alternate roads motorists can avoid signals at Kaloor, Palarivattom, Edappally and other locations along metro route.

The vehicles also move along the Perandoor road, Edappally Raghavan Pillai road, Ponekkara road, Ponevazhi road, railway station road to reach the national highway 17 near the Kaloor old market. So this is a really busy road and if hawkers are let to take over the roads, then there is a huge problem.

The Edappaly Raghavan Pillai road is actuallly a part of the alternate route which connects Edappally to Kaloor junction linking Perandoor road. As the on-going Kochi Metro works takes place along main road which connects Kaloor junction and Edappaly motorists take a detour through Perandoor road.

You know th Devankulangara junction is a point where Elamakkara road joins Edappally Raghavan Pillai Road. Vehicles from Palarivattom move through the Elamakkara road on the western side of Changampuzha park to proceed towards Edappally which means theat there is a constant flow of vehicles going through here.

Exactly, The town planning department will have to interfere to relocate these vendors on the foot paths and ensure smooth movement of traffic and walkers or else the traffic and the unrest of the locals can go out of hand.

When officials from the corporation's health department directed the vendors to move away from the road they occupied the footpaths along the road causing hardships to pedestrians. I mean they need to be vacated or else the pedestrians end up walking on the roads, which again will cause traffic.

Yes. The local commuters are not happy. With the traffic congestion becoming a regular affair, local people have come up in protest against Kochi corporation demanding the local body to remove the hawkers and clear the road for traffic.

You know the road that went between Palarivattom Junction and Edappally Junction to facilitate construction of Kochi Metro was relaid for the commuters' use But a lot of vendors have set up shop resulting in traffic congestion over the roads here.

Hello. The Kochi Metro have actually relevant steps and have come up with alternate roads for the vehicles to commute on. But even then there are some problems with that right now.
