Makes sense. Pollution is never good for water bodies. But, at least keeping it clean and beautifying should be done. If a city’s prominent landmarks are intact, it is good for the city and the people. A nice lake in the Ukkadam area can be of benefit to the area in the future in terms of real estate investments.
I think the Green activists are right in a way. Allowing vehicles will only do damage to the lake and the water, maybe just walkway is a good idea. They can install dustbins and stuff around to avoid dirtying the lake. What do you think?
Yea, I heard they will construct a separate walkway for people to walk and a two wheeler lane, around a 1.4 km lane around the lake. But, people, I heard that there are already some objections to this project by the green activists.
Yea, it isn’t just the lake beautification, they are also planning to strengthen the lake bund. It’s just a proposal as of now. Nothing has started yet, the civic body has to get the approval and they are looking for subsidy from the State Government.
