Measures taken against unsafe buildings

Q: Ok so Ive seen that there are a number of dilapidated buildings around the city - they look like they might break and fall down at any moment. So what are the authorities planning to do about this? Any steps being taken?

Yes, IMC is going to be pasting notices on any building that is violating basic safety norms. Actually they wanted to demolish these buildings, but they didnt because of some legal reasons.

This basically some kind of a safety measure so that the tenants also know what risk their building is running. This whole thing will be done by a eteam from the IMC headed by the zonal officer.

Actually they are doing this before the Anant Chaturdashi processions. So they are basically trying to identify all the unsafe buildings that are falling on the path of the processions. Almost 50 houses have been identified as dilapidated.

So immediately the plan is just to warn these weak buildings of the risk they are running. The civc body is going to be identifying all these buildings initially
