Q: I read somewhere recently that the reason why Coimbatore's property market is now one of the major economic markets of India, is because of limited infrastructure and development. Is this true? What changes need to be made then?
I don't think this has anything to do with infrastructure. because for a tier 2 city, Coimbatore is really doing well for itself. What the problem is that realty experts can't seem to look past development of tier 1 cities and find the potential in tier 2 cities like Coimbatore.
The hour of the need is to solve the traffic chaos and congestion in coimbatore. More number of arterial and radial roads should be constructed. Traffic should ease in the area.
Yes but you should be very smart in choosing where exactly to invest in Coimbatore. Because I don't think small-term investments are wise. Go in for long term ones. Those that range for more than 5 years. Because only then will you notice any developmental changes.
Some of the projects that should take place in the future that will help real estate scenario of Coimbatore are current international airport, completing the planned ring road within a short time, promoting more industrial park/SME hubs that focus on textile, engineering & automobile industries and creating better connectivity between various modes of transportation.
The true potential of Coimbatore is yet to be unlocked. This will happen once development takes place on a large scale. Coimbatore can do much better in the future. It has the potential.
Realty projects also contribute to the revenue of the government. This is something that should be improved on. And increasd in number. Because many investors in Coimbatore are interested in buying property for end use. Not to rent.
Thing is that too many people are migrating to Coimbatore and buying homes. But infrastructure is not enough to support for all these peoples. But still Coimbatore is a very preferred investment destination in South India. Compared to other tier 2 and tier 3 cities of the south, it is much better off.
Correct. The only thing I feel that stops Coimbatore from emerging as the economic hub that it is supposed to become is infrastructure. There is a complete lack of it. If this builds up, then so will the market.
In general, Coimbatore's real estate market is one that is ideal for residential and commercial projects. It is also strategically located and the pleasent climate is another factor that attracts people to invest here.
