Q: How is the public transport system in Vennala, Kochi? I want to know about the general infrastructure of this area, is it reliable or not. I need to decide on a locality in Kochi for renting a house from next month.

The authorities are saying that because they dont have enough number of buses, so they decided to cut services to this locality. :(

They said that the buses will start from 5 am, but they actually only start running after 7am. And after 8pm there is nothing. We have to plead with motorists to hitch a drive back. Autos and taxis are unbelievably expensive.

The localites had applied a lot of pressure on the KSRTC, and so they started a few buses for transport. But none of those were adequate for circulation around the city, so we had to be dependent on the private buses only.

After our persistent petitions and appraisals for nearly five years, a 'Thiru Kochi’ service was introduced here. But it was stopped after a short life span of three months for some unknown reasons
