Best thing about Kakkanad is you just step outside the locality and you find other good neighbourhoods like Thrikkakara, Kalamassery and Tripunithura. Oh and you must have heard of Veegaland. Yeah, thats the largest theme park in the state. Its located very close to Kakkanad

On a more serious note, you need to keep a track of all the hospitals around here. Sunshine hospital and the sushruta eye hospital are both noteworthy, and both on the Seaport-Airport road. In fact even the govt veterinary hospital is here.

Let me tell you about the excellent connectivity of Kakkanad. Both the Seaport-Airport road and the SH 41 pass through here, so the localities on all four sides are within easy reach. Yeah the traffic can be a bit of a problem on these roads, but I guess that problem is inevitable.

Lots of restaurants, cafes, and fast food joints around here, I think thats why there is such a huge population of younger people in this locality. Subway is there, so is the popular Burgeria and Alakapuri. Oh and of course how can I forget the Asten Mall, its a shopping landmark here.

Your day to day shopping can be done almost anytime, so many supermarkets and general stores are here. In fact there is a Nilgiri's right in the heart of Kakkanad. Cafe Coffee Day, Baskin n Robbins and other food chains are also here.

This locality is obviously so crowded because of the already exisiting infopark, and now the upcoming SmartCity, which will probably be operational by next year. This place has constant price and rent appreciation, so be prepared for that as well.

There are plenty of apartments available in Kakkanad, either for buying or for renting. You can get 1 or 2bhks easily. The average rent prices here is Rs 12 per sq feet, whichi s slightly high, but the locality is totally worth it.

Yeah, you'll find apartments to rent between Rs 8,000 to 12,000 per month rent. Lots of IT professionals here like yourself, so you can even get flatmates without any trouble. That will be better, because the 2bhks and 3bhks are more affordable when shared by 2 or 3 people, as opposed to just one person living in a 1bhk. Hope this was helpful :)

Oh thats one of the best places in Kochi to live in, especially since the infopark is right there. I bet you'll be working there right? The locality has a vibrant feel, its very suitable for the urban youth of Kochi like yourself.
