Q: I want to buy property on the Khandwa Road. Can anyone give me a brief idea of the place? Is the locality more suitable for families or bachelors. I plan on turning the property into my second income, thats why asking.

Both Central Mall and Treasure Island Mall are nearby to this place, so thats a good advantage. Also since this road leads to the Chhatribagh area in the heart of Indore on the north and then towards the city outskirts on the south, connectivity is an added advantage.

Reliance Fresh, Aapurti Super Bazar, Rajput Kirana, etc are all nearby actually. And there are other smaller grocery shops and general stores around the place as well. So its just the right neighbourhood for families as well as single people.

Property prices in Khandwa Road are typically on the lower side. During the first quarter of 2014, average property rate was Rs 2100 per sq. ft. In the second quarter, the prices appreciated to Rs 2300 per sq. ft, which is basically an appreciation of about 9% in only one quarter

I want to add a bit more to the transportation services available on the Khandwa Raod. Other than the BRTS, there is also the ITSL City Taxi service that can be availed. These taxis basically use a GPS system to find the quickest and least congested routes in the area

Another advantage that Khandwa Road residents enjoy is definitely the BRTS services. There is a constant flow of these buses along the road, between Anuradha Nagar and Tejaji Nagar at Indore Bypass Road Junction. People can board these buses from a number of bus stops, like the Standard Public School BRTS, DAVV, Bhawarkuan Square, and Swami Vivekananda bus stops.

I think Khandwa Road is popular mostly for the number of colleges present here. Which explains the number of youngsters also looking for accomodation along its length. Both IIT indore and IIM indore are present right here, along with a bunch of other colleges.

Also I think its not throbbing with so much activities as some other parts of Indore. Its comparitively peaceful, so its preferred by quite a number of families. Additionally it has a number of schools here like, Poddar International School, San Marino Public School, JJ Public School, Carmel Convent, Swami Vivekanand School, etc.

I think Khandwa Road is suitable to both families and bachelors. On one hand it has all the amenities that families look for - schools, grocery stores, hospitals. On the other, it is also commercially developed to cater to the younger crowd.
