Connecting highways to improve connectivity

Q: Hi, I think that Indore should have a connecting highway to various cities for its development. Is there any new development going on in this direction?

The simhastha 2016 is going to get some great attention as far as I am concerned. For this, there is a very important need to construct Sanwer-Kshipra road and Debalpur-Betma road.

You know what, Along with the urban roads, there has been government direction to complete on-going projects of roads in rural areas in next two years and stressed on construction of roads, which connect highways with villages.

Exactly, the plan of action for such road projects should be done at the time of making detail project report (DPR) on roads. This will help in the effective implementation of the projects. isnt it.

There was in the news that officials of NHAI have been directed to prepare a project report also for the conversion of the Indore-Betul Road into 4 lanes. The government is also saying that there is a need to construct flyovers and subways at select places in Indore for smooth flow of traffic.

Actually this would reduce travel time between Malwa region and Maharashtra. I came to know that the two-lane Indore-Betul road needs to be converted into four-lane.

I think that there will be reviewing of the pending and proposed road projects very soon. I think that connecting the two highways will help divert commercial vehicles to the city outskirts.

Exactly, the speaker was presiding over the meeting of officials of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana at Residency when she told about this. I think there will be plans to review pending and proposed road projects.

Hello there, recently, I came to know about the development going on in Indore about the highways. Recently. The Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan proposed to connect Indore-Ahmedabad highway (NH 59) with Indore Betul Road (NH59A) to improve connectivity.
