It also provide a major relief to the commuters from frequent traffic jams. The link road will also help motorists heading towards Shimla, Manali, Dharamsala, Patiala and Bathinda. In an effort to decongest the Zirakpur intersection of the Ambala-Chandigarh Highway and the Patiala-Shimla Highway, the Punjab Government has taken up an Rs 1,000-crore project to lay a six-lane ring road.
