Q: The key infrastructure projects will be a Mumbai airport, a port and a key coastal road to speed up economic growth.
Latest Answer: Righ Himani, They got all 8 clearance in 4 months and they will start choosing bidder for the project by the end of the summer. The airport is a crucial part of efforts to push Mumbai development away from the sea, reducing a metropolitan area estimated to be home to more than 20 million and whose roads and public transport already fight for breath.

Q: Which are the key infrastructure projects the government is planning to discuss?
Latest Answer: I read somewhere that Out of the four projects being considered for serious discussion, the Worli-Haji Ali sea link is the most controversial one. The contract was awarded to Reliance Infrastructure Ltd last year. However, the contractor had announced that it would exit the project citing differences with MSRDC. A mediator was assigned to resolve this dispute. The mediator had slammed the government for changing the terms and conditions after MSRDC awarded the contract, and hence breached its contract with Reliance Infrastructure. The mediator had indirectly implied that the firm was not liable to pay any penalty for exiting the contract.
