Q: What are the steps that the Kochi Municipal Corporation are taking to clear septic waste?
Latest Answer: The Kochi Municipal Corporation has at last realized the need for septic waste treatment plants in the city, and have plans to construct one soon. They corporation have taken this up only after increased pressure and protest from residents to clear septic waste. The corporation has promised to build a sewage treatment plant at the Cochin Port Trust in Kundannoor. The plant will be on four acres of land, and the corporation will mostly use a Build-Operate-Transfer mode. Because there is no place to treat the waste, they are dumped on the Container Terminal Road. There are also plans to build a sewage treatment plant in Brahmapuram.
