Don't forget that the authority has also approved the development of Kalyan Growth Centre and the estimated expenditure of Rs 1089 crore for the same. This growth centre will be well connected by road and rail routes and will create job opportunities outside Mumbai and contribute to balanced development of the metropolitan region what with the MMRDA taking up infrastructural development sooner than later.

The main objectives of the project is to prepare a traffic dispersal model for potential movability and connectivity, develop North-South road links in the suburbs including a Mass Rapid Transit connectivity, provide bus terminal / bus depots and to create facilities for passengers, make strong East-West connectivity in the suburbs, remove level crossing in Mumbai, provide efficient and fast public transport corridors, Facilitate safe and convenient movement for pedestrians, provide high capacity uninterrupted road connection to both the Airports etc.
