Latest Answer: I agreed with Hamsika Iyer. Unlike the real estate law, which is gradually gaining ground and most homebuyers today are aware of their rights, most tenants are not aware of the state-specific tenant protection law. They choose to accept that the landlord holds the supreme power.
Q:Hi,I was staying as a tenant at D304, Orchard. I left the apartment on 29.08.2017. The lessor is not refunding the security deposit. As per the agreement, it was terminated on 29.08.2017. What should I do?
Latest Answer: Most renters try of asking for their security deposit back and decide to vacate their residences in the hopes of receiving the funds later. Getting the security deposit back in this scenario is far more difficult and will take much longer. When you still own the house, you have a better chance of getting it. This paragraph will not apply to you if your house rent agreement format expressly stipulates that the deposit will be returned to you only after you vacate.

Latest Answer: In Mumbai apartment cost is very high and rent is very low... I would suggest you to go and stay in rental, so that once real estate bubble is burst - you may be able to buy property at lower price point... I heard recently that lot of apartments/house are vacant in all the metros in India.. negotiate with landlord and don't go for property without parking, road, water.. Never agree for huge advance as well.
