Q: AS per Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at least 12 smart cities and several coastal economic zones will come up under the ambitious Sagarmala project which will lift India's GDP growth by 2%.
Latest Answer: Yes, to get appropriate result, govt. should support those cities or state first. Government grants will be leveraged to attract funding from internal and external sources but unless there is a possible business model or guarantee from the center, this would not be easy. Also, the track record of Public Private Partnership projects is at best mixed and when there would be multiple parties associated like the center, states, local bodies and private entities, the task would be even more challenging.

Government grants will be leveraged to attract funding from internal and external sources but unless there is a possible business model or guarantee from the centre, this would not be easy.
