Latest Answer: Hi everybody,
Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board, they have issued a final hearing notice to the tenants on August 7, 2015 inviting the objecting tenants for final hearing. It was informed that if they were not present for the hearing, it will be presumed that they have no objection. Out of the 37 notices for final hearing, 21 notices were received back by this office for the reason that the names of persons who had been issued the notices had expired.
Latest Answer: @Pradyuman,
It is true. As per the members of 15 organizations that represent the residents, shop owners, stall-owners and slum dwellers on BDD Chawl land, ror the last 30 years, they have been seeking government approval to do the redevelopment on their own.
Q:No additional payment will be charged on fungible floor space index that is used for the redevelopment of chawls and residential buildings on mill lands.
Latest Answer: Yes, and this time they will get larger homes. Earlier it was decided to give them 300 sq-ft. tenements. Now, they will get an additional 100 sq-ft. on account of the fungible FSI.
Latest Answer: It means, the MHADA tenements will then need only construction cost. This will surely reduce the prices of flats further down even in the private sector. However, there will be no impact on the realty prices in Mumbai.
Latest Answer: Yes, they are saying that a host of economic activities such as pottery and leather business in these settlements will be affected unless a proper rehabilitation plan is developed. The area is also home to a host of small-scale industries.
Latest Answer: @Akhilesh,
But i heard that this land parcel belongs to government which they have handed over to MHADA for construction of houses for lower and middle class people. And as per judicial note, any govt. land for which some scheme is launched for a public cause, it is stalled immediately either by slumlords or by encroachers by approaching the court and misrepresent the facts and documents.
Latest Answer: I heard that under this policy the central government will pay Rs 1.5 lakh per house and the state government will pay Rs 1 lakh per house. This scheme will be executed through private developers using land as a resource. Is it true friends?
Latest Answer: You are right. Mhada should not sell its land and allow a portion to be used for luxury construction. According to me, it is the only one in a position to bring economic balance in the real estate market.
