HMT POLLUTION MATTERS
Q: Dear Mr Tuli Thank you for forwarding a copy of the "pollution and emission control " certificate that KSPCB has issued to HMT. The earlier such certificate that HMT had was valid till 30. 6.2009. and that expired long back. This new one I notice has validity only till 30.6.2011. which is just about one month away. As can be observed there are several terms and conditions for HMT to meet to comply. Who is going to monitor that this is being done ?. Residents in PWP are faced with the actual fact of the pollution, the gases, the fumes etc, and I wonder what is the sanctity of the KSPCB issuing this certificate, is it just another scam ?. This whole matter needs more investigative follow up. Perhaps an RTI application can be made to obtain a copy of the "Consent Committee Meeting " held by the KSPCB on 22/01/2011. regards G T KOSHY
