Q: I am planning to buy a property in MGR Nagar, Chennai. The property was allocated by Government to a person named Rama. Rama had signed in Tamil at that time in the allocation document. Rama has then sold it to a person named Easwar. But the agreement document (between Rama and Easwar) has Rama's signature in English. It seems that Rama had left to US to join her sons. She had also signed a affidavit stating her signature in Tamil and a different signature in English. My question is this - Is it safe to purchase this property? EC is clear and has both Rama and Easwar's name. Please let me know your thoughts.

Latest Answer: EC is clear and has both Rama and Easwar's name then you need to find out that Easwar is the only owner of the property. This can be done with help of legal expert and visit to sub-registrar office. If Easwar is owner and there is no legal issues for transferring property, you can sure go for buying the same.
