Service Tax & Vat on flat purchase after O.C
Q: Respected All, I had purchase flat in the year 2011 (JAN.)Builder had already received C.C and O.C before I had made full payment. Now builder is forcing me to pay service tax & Vat. He is also not providing N.O.C for transferring Electric Meter and Property tax on my name. He wants the cheque first or he will not issue N.O.C. Please help or guide me how should I go ahead with this issue. Thanking you,

Latest Answer: Hey Mukhtar, You should pay service tax only when the project is under construction. As you said that the builder has already received completion certificate and occupancy certificate that means the project is completed and there is no question of paying service tax. I would advice you to take help from your legal expert.
