Q: I have been scouting for multiple projects & have enquired the VAT and service tax percentages. The VAT percentage is 4% and 10.3% of 33% of construction cost as service tax. The VAT and service tax in this project is much higher - did any of you clarify this?

Q: 1. At what rates these taxes are applicable on residential apartments under construction, in Gujatat and Karnataka? 2. Is the tax applicable on the payments to be made or on total flat value? (e.g. 75% work completed before 31.03.11, and so payment)

Q: Hi, I have bought a new property and i want information about the taxes that are applicable. 1) Registration Charge: Land Deed + Agreement of construction 2) VAT(1.25%): 3) Service Tax(3.09%): Can you please let me know on what amount will the above three be charged? The builder is charging on the total sales amount but I am not sure if that is correct.. Please guide me to the right government forum from where I can get the information..
