Q: How does one receive a MIG flat in new town AAIII area, kolkata as gift from his father? Is it through a Gift deed post registration of original owner or can it be done before registration of original owner? What is the percentage of stamp duty and/or registration charges and will it be charged on original price of the flat or the prevailing govt rate or the market rate?

Latest Answer: It is invalid if a gift of a property is not registered. Documents should be stamped and registered as required, and attested by two witnesses.
