Q: There is a law /rule that all properties must be calculated on carpet area basis. Why is this rule violated by all??
Latest Answer: Hi Ramani, Whether the flat/apartment is calculated on the basis of the carpet area, the built-up and the super built-up area, it is not a legal issue but might be a commercial issue. My suggestion is that ask builder for the built-up area, super built-up area, carpet area and loading. Calculate the loading (If u r buying a 1000 sq ft flat with carpet of 600 sq ft, loading is 400/600 = 66.6 %.) and see If the load is more than 30% then it is not appropriate for you but if the load is less than 30% then calculate the price per sqft and see whether the price is agreeable for you or not.
