Now a days many country is facing water problem in which India is also one of them. Well Richa you have asked about what are the solutions of water problem. So I have mentioned few points below. Hope so it can help you. Points on How to solve water problem. 1. Plantation of trees: As we know trees are very essential to life. It is one of the first and best solution to resolve water problem. We should plant more number of trees because it increases soil permeability which results in reduced surface runoff, Soil Erosion, Wind erosion. 2. Rainwater Harvesting: It is very essential in todays environment. Every individual houses, apartments should have rain water harvesting system installed and operational. 3. Water Reservoirs: More numbers of water reservoirs can be created across country. 4. Dam Construction: Construction of dam where ever required especially where people face water crisis. Now a days many country is facing water problem in which India is also one of them. There are many cities in India having water problems but also there are cities which have extra supply too. Cities with Water Problem: Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Asansol, Dhanbad, Meerut, Faridabad, Visakhapatnam, Madurai and Hyderabad, Greater Mumbai and Delhi. Cities with extra supply of water: Nagpur, Punjab, Ludhiana, Vadodara, Rajkot, Kolkata, Allahabad and Nasik Problems of Water Scarcity: 1) Rise in Population of Cities 2) Gap between supply and demand 3) Geographical Condition 4) Drought 5) Surface Run-off let's say a city has demand of 3000 million litres of water but the supply is only 2500 Million litres. But there are possibilities that around 20% of supply is lost in distribution which again creates a large gap between demand and supply With the increasing immigrant working population in metro cities, this phenomena is also leading to a wider demand supply gap causing serious water supply problems in these cities. There are many cities in India having water problems but also there are cities which have extra supply too.
