When my wife asked PCMC staff re. rebate they told her that she has to come personally every year to claim rebate and cannot apply online to get the reabte.

On payment of entire Property Tax of current year by June 30, along with outstanding dues, following rebates can be claimed (only on Municipal Tax):- 1) For Residential Properties owned and used by Freedom Fighter & Ex- Servicemen : 50% discount on Municipal Tax.
2) For Residential Properties solely owned by women and used for residential purposes : 50% discount Municipal Tax.
3) For Residential Properties specifically registered as residential building: 10% discount on Municipal Tax.
4) For Non-residential / Industrial / land etc.: 5% discount on Municipal Tax.
Thanks for your reply.I do not understand why women have to come personally or though somebody to submit the documents for claiming 50% rebate.Why the same cannot be done online?Is the PCMC still living in the 19th century?While giving rebate to women is to be applauded,the matter of convenience is forgotten.If we are living in Delhi,do we have to come all the way to Pune to claim the rebate?How rediculous!
