Permissible FSI on a residiential plot 39ft x 37 ft. in the rear side connected by a 10 ft. passage to a 40ft.road
Q: This plot is situate on the rear side of the main plot connected by a 10 feet wide and 60ft. long passage to the adjoining road (40 ft. wide) in Chennai CIT Colony, a residential area in Mylapore,Chennai-600004. What is the maximum FSI for construction of a residential building in this rear plot and maximum stories that can be built as per Chennai Corporation Building Rules?

Latest Answer: Hi Sridharan, As per my knowledge, Floor Space Index (FSI) is the ratio of the total floor area of buildings on a certain location to the size of the land of that location. Chennai Corporation is issuing building permits to all the buildings including CMDA`s special buildings, multi-storey buildings and layouts after taking over the land left over for road portion and the land reserved for open space reservation etc. after the planning permits issued by CMDA.
