Q: What is FSI and what are the rules for FSI in Chennai?

Hi: I have about 11,000 sq.ft. land in Kotagiri Taluk, about 6 km. from Kotagiri town. What's the procedure for obtaining clearance for (1) plan layout, and (2) building plan. I wish to construct G+1. What's the maximum floor area permitted and who is the sanctioning authority - local municipality or DTCP?
