Hi, I am David from Kochi. I am really not satisfied with the present condition of the canals and the sewage treatment in Kochi city. Just wanted to know if there is any plans to renovate these old canals and all here. Someone plz give some info on this?

The ministers have actually assured the funds for the purpose of this issue related to the remodelling of the canals in the city. Earlier on, the corporation had also made some plans to make the canal navigable by cleaning them. The plan was to add the canal to the existing water network, this would improve the goods transport also.

I think the project is getting loans from the German Development Bank, and there I got a hint that they will almost drop this project saying that it is not feasible to make all the canals navigable. The reason for dropping the project is the huge land acquisition cost.

Do you have any proof that the mentioned bank rejected this plan?
