House deposit details in HRBR Layout
Q: Hi. Can someone tell me how much deposit I should pay for a 2bhk house in HRBR layout? I'm considering houses in kammanahalli, hennur, kalyan nagar etc. My friends said 6 month deposit is fine, but not many house owners are agreeing. What's the right amount?

Yeah, Bangalore is pretty harsh when it comes to deposits. HRBR is quite a student-friendly area though; you might find some nice landlords who are willing to bring it down to six month's deposit. Below that is almost impossible for a 2bhk. We paid 1.2 lacs (6 months') for our 3BHK.Yeah, Bangalore is pretty harsh when it comes to deposits. It also kinda depends on which part of the area/ the kind of building you're going for. If you're a family and you're looking for a nice home, you probably have to pay the price. Yes, even I've been offered this higher-rent-lower-deposit scheme. Personally, I wouldn't take it because it's a bigger commitment.
