Q: We have a plot in Bangalore which was undertaken for JD by a Builder. The completion date of the project was Sep'15, however there are few things which are not yet completed in the project(Amenities, lifts, OC & final finishes). There are about 20 residence who have taken possession in the apartment. We have been delayed possession. Need to know if we can do anything legally to fasten the process. Also need help with regarding to handover process(what are things we should keep in mind while taking handover from builder).

Latest Answer: Hey Soma, Talk to the builder once about the handover and also check you sale deed if he has mention any kind of compensation for delay in possession. secondly, you can take suggestions and advice from a legal expert

Q: I'm the land owner we have entered into JD with a builder. Currently the project is in final stages of completion. We have sold only one unit for now, builder has sold 90% of his Units. Below are my Questions Do I need to collect VAT from customers, if yes how much?(Builder says we landowners are not required to collect VAT from customers) need clarity on this. Also what are the other service taxes that we have to collect from customers. Please advice. Regards, Soma Shekar Reddy Bangalore

Latest Answer: Hello Soma, First you have to check the agreement which was made between you and the builder. Because the VAT collection depends on the agreement made.
