Ramanathan, Chief Administrative Officer/Construction, Southern Railway, said that the new rail route, which involves a distance of 180 km, would pass through Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore and Thiruvallur districts in Tamil Nadu and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. It would cross Cheyyar and Palar rivers. The new route would link the Tindivanam station with the Nagari, and 22 new stations would be established in the route.
