Please guide me if the distance written is fine in case of apartments. I read somewhere that the land or house should not be close to cremation ground, but I didn't find anything related to how much distance should be there from the cremation ground that it doesn't impact the persons living in the home.

I have booked a under construction flat in central suburbs in Mumbai and registered the agreement. The builder has now demanded that 5% VAT is payable on agreement value or market value, whichever is higher on agreements registered between 20th June 2006 and 31st March, 2010.
Can any one throw some light and authenticate whether this is really payable. What about agreements registered subsequent to 1st April 2010, is VAT chargeable.

A khata is the genuine khata many people are cheated by the developers to buy illegal sites, while B khata is B register for just collection of taxes is for illegal site entry. May be your plot is enter into B register because of many reason. Now the problem is that you cannot sale the site, cannot get bank loan.
