Water problem can get very bad in kovaipudur and other parts of Coimbatore like Vadavalli and Ramanathapuram. The bore wells have got very polluted before and packaged water is super expensive plus the public taps for water are really far away. Hey...i always admire a good locality with a park and other facilities where you can relax in the evening as well as many other facilities that you dont have to go much far away. For Saibaba Colony, there are some parks here. Yeah, Ukkadam Big Tank is polluted with solid wastes. People are discharging wastes into it, and it has polluted the water in it. The pollution is also affecting the ground water in the area. I know! The tanks look filled up but half of it is filled with drainage and sewage that comes from the city. In 2003, business houses and NGOs got together and cleared the channels.
