Q:
Is Vijayanagar Extension a good place to buy a family home?
My replies to this discussion
Yes, Vijayanagar extension is definitely the best place in Mysore for a family home. This is one of the top localities in the city and has all the facilities that you need for your family. If you have kids, then there are several good schools in this area, like, Kautilya Vidyalaya, Supreme Public School, Mount Litera Zee School, NPS International School, and others. The SVEI Engineering college is also located in Vijayanagar. Q:
What are the property registration charges in Mysore?
My replies to this discussion
Don’t depend on the agent too much on these matters. It is better if you yourself can do the payment and take the receipt of the payment.
The registration fee is 1% of the property value in Mysore, in case of sale of property. In addition to this, the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) has introduced a 2% fee chargeable on the sale deed.
If you acquire the property as a gift deed from a family member, then you will have to pay a registration fee of just Rs 500.Don’t depend on the agent too much on these matters. It is better if you yourself can do the payment and take the receipt of the payment.

Can anyone tell me what are the key residential localities near Infosys?
My replies to this discussion
Hey, I think Hebbal is mostly an industrial area. I don’t think there are that many good residential projects there.
You can definitely try out Elavala. There are a lot of upcoming residential projects in this area. There are apartments, villas as well as plots for sale in Elavala. The average square foot price for sale was an affordable Rs 647 in the third quarter of 2013.
The Brindavan extension is also a good residential locality close to Infosys. You will find good residential buildings here for sale as well as for rent. Q:
How is the water supply in Gundu Rao Nagar?
My replies to this discussion
Yeah, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission has been implemented for areas at the foot of the Chamundi Hills. I think Gundu Rao Nagar is entirely covered by this scheme, so there won’t be any water shortage. I have aready heard some residents of this area saying that the water supply to their homes has improved drastically within a matter of days, after the implementation of this scheme.
You don’t need to worry if you’ll be living in this area, but in case you are moving into some other part of Mysore, then I must warn you to be prepared for frequent water shortages.Yeah, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission has been implemented for areas at the foot of the Chamundi Hills. I was looking at properties in Mysore to invest in, and I came across the Premier Redwood project. Can anyone give me any further information regarding the project, like what kind of apartments, the area, etc? Will it be good investment idea?
My replies to this discussion
Hey, good selection! I was also looking at residential projects few days back and I ran into this project. It has 2 and 3BHKs. The best part about these apartments is that the built-up area is really huge. So if you’re planning to live there with your family, then there won’t be any problems related to space. There is enough room for everybody. The 2BHKs have an average size of 1400 sq. ft and the 3BHKs have an average area of 2100 sq. ft.Hey, good selection! I found out a lot about the project when I was looking to buy a house a few days back. It is located on the Lalithamahal road in Nazarbad Mohalla. There are 2 and 3 BHK apartments available here. Q:
How will I know if I’m eligible to buy a house under the “Own Your House” scheme?
My replies to this discussion
The “Own your house” scheme was re-introduced by MUDA recently. To avail of this scheme you need to have a MUDA site. The construction duties will be undertaken by MUDA. You will have to pay 25% of the construction cost and the remaining amount can be paid in installments. The OYHS will be introduced only in certain parts of Mysore. If the scheme is successful in those areas, the MUDA will extend it to other parts of Mysore. The “Own your house” scheme was re-introduced by MUDA recently. Q:
Should I invest in real estate near the Devaraja Market?
My replies to this discussion
There are talks of renovating the Devaraja Market by the Mysore City Corporation. If that happens, then real estate around this area would really pick up.First, you need to find out if the renovation is really happening or not. Next, check out whatever new upcoming projects in the nearby area, because people are more likely to invest in new houses rather than old ones. There is no point in investing in this area, if the situation around Devaraja Market doesn’t improve."There are talks of renovating the Devaraja Market by the Mysore City Corporation. I'm looking to move with my family from Bangalore to Mysore. Can someone tell me some good localities in Mysore?
My replies to this discussion
You have made a good choice of moving to Mysore. Many people are moving from Bangalore to Mysore because of the old world charm that Mysore offers, and the overpopulation in Bangalore. You should look at areas like Jayalakshmipuram, Gokulam, and Yadavgiri. These areas are centrally located, and have many malls, hospitals, and schools. You can travel to other parts of the city using buses or autorickshaws. Jayalakshmipuram has educational institutions like Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Mahajana College, and SBRR Mahajana College. I am moving to Mysore from Bangalore and I will be living in Mysore for two years. What is the rent in Jayalakshmipuram in Mysore?
My replies to this discussion
Yeah, I think the numbers mentioned by the user above is right. Usually you will have to pay a deposit ten times the amount of the rent, but some builders may ask for Rs. 1,00,000 as deposit. Apart from deposit, some builders will also ask for maintenance fee which will be Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000 monthly or lesser also. You can check out this link for more details about properties in Jayalakshmipuram - http://www.commonfloor.com/Properties-for-rent-in-mysore/cfct-mysore. Any reviews on the Pratham Lakshmi apartments in Mysore?

Yeah, I truly believe that Gokulam is the best place to live in Mysore. It is very quiet and there are numerous facilities also available. Q:
What is the status on the expansion of Mysore's airport?
My replies to this discussion
I think the process is ongoing because land acquisition has been a problem for the airport. The new runway which was going to come would have come one the Mysore-Nanjangud highway. So, they will have to first realign the highway before they can do expansion process. I think the first thing the government should do before expansion of the airport is get more flights to the airport. Now there are very few flights flying to the airport. The government plans to acquire around 84 acres of land to expand the airport.I think the process is ongoing because land acquisition has been a problem for the airport. Q:
Guys, I’m thinking of applying for a job in Mysore, but I’ve heard a lot of complaints regarding the amount of pollution there. Is it so bad that I should reconsider moving there?
My replies to this discussion
I totally agree man, all these vehicles giving out so much smoke is one of the main reasons for the crazy amount of pollution here. You know, most of the petrol bunks in this area are selling adulterated petrol, which also causes more emission from cars and bikes. Mysore actually recorded an alarming rise in the amount of suspended particulate matter, which is basically the amount of pollution in the air. But the good news is that the World Environmental Service Organisation has begun to address this as a serious issue, and the KSPCB is also working on it. But yeah, if you get a good job offer here, I would recommend you take it.I totally agree man, all these vehicles giving out so much smoke is one of the main reasons for the crazy amount of pollution here. Q:
I've read in a lot of news articles that Mysore is fast developing and real estate value is going up. Is there potential in investing here?
My replies to this discussion
Yes and this price rise is what gave people faith in Mysore to invest here in the first place! Now there is growth of many IT companies and very good colleges in Karnataka in Mysore, so this has attracted people from all over the region to shift to Mysore. Real estate is especially good in areas around Eliwala and JP nagar because a lot of developmental projects take place here. And now with the new plans of making the Bangalore - Mysore highway 8 lanes, with flyover, this will ease the traffic congestion and bottlenecks. This will definitely draw more people to invest here.Yes and this price rise is what gave people faith in Mysore to invest here in the first place! Q:
Has Bogadi been facing some civic issues lately? How well developed is the locality?
My replies to this discussion
I don't know about the present but in the past it was a menace to live in this area. Residents living in 250 houses had to suffer everyday because of some neighbourhood issue or the other. It's annoying that even after 20 years of being around, basic civic amenities are lacking. Even drinking water is a rare commodity as there is always some problem or the other with the bore well. People had to end up paying 600 to 700 rupees on water tankers as well as road cutting activities undertaken by the civic body to 'fix the drainage system'. No alternate provisions are also made.

I'm quite apprehensive of relocating to Sreerampura, Mysore because I've heard that it's an unsafe area. Do you think it will be a good idea for me to move there with my family? Any suggestions on apartments?
My replies to this discussion
Safety is always an issue and it always will be especially if you are relocating with your entire family. But the locality actually has really good schools, hospitals, restaraunts and supermarkets. There are these new residential apartments called Zuari Garden City. I read here http://www.commonfloor.com/zuari-garden-city-mysore/povp-ndnabj that they have 2, 3, 4 and even 5 bhk apartments. Great place for a family because they have kinds of facilities present within the community walls. I'm new to Siddhartha layout in Mysore and I know nothing about the area. Can someone tell me where the closest airport, railway station and nearby cities are? Any suggestions for apartments?
My replies to this discussion
Seems like everyone has told you about all the important closest destinations but no one has said anything about the apartments at siddhartha layout lol. RT nagar has some of the best roads in Mysore and rarely does it face electrical problems. Excellent facilities as well. There's this one particular project that seems promising. The Tapovan Glades residential homes is actually quite advanced in the way they've planned out the apartments to provide ample ventilation with minimum light disturbance. Not too sure if apartments are already available but even then, it will be ready maximum by the end of the year. Hey how profitable is the real estate in Yadavagiri in Mysore? Any suggestions for 2 bhk residential apartments in the locality?
My replies to this discussion
There's another residential apartment called Vaishnavi Sarovar apartments which actually has 2 bhks available right now! Hey can someone please tell me what plans the Karnataka Housing Board has for planning layouts in Mysore? I heard many developmental changes are to take place in the outskirts of the city?
My replies to this discussion
This project is quite sustainable. Solar energy is utilized here and residents have a seperate drinking water line from the KRS dam. Reason why the project is so costly is because KHB had to pay Rs 36.5 lakh per acre to the farmers. This project is quite sustainable. What is the inter-city infrastructure like between Mysore and its neighbouring cities. I’m asking because I’m buying a house in Mysore, and my new job requires me to travel a lot between these cities.
My replies to this discussion
Yes, we are definitely looking at the track redoubling to be completed by March 2015. The issues that were delaying this project have been sorted out and the construction work has been expedited efficiently to finish it on target. Once that railway tracks are active, I’ve heard that there are a number of high speed trains that will be travelling between Mysore and Chennai via Bangalore. I think you don’t need to worry about your travel timings to all these cities. Yes, we are definitely looking at the track redoubling to be completed by March 2015. Hi. Does anyone here know how to obtain attested copies of registration documents for Mysore property? I am looking to sell my ancestral property.
My replies to this discussion
Well there is indeed a certain procedure involved. Any random person cannot go and obtain. Since in your case you are dealing with your ancestral property, you will be entitle. But you have to produce authorization of being a representative of the claimant. Generally copies of registered deeds are available to agents/ executants and claimants.Well there is indeed a certain procedure involved. Any random person cannot go and obtain.
