Q:
Is Elavala a safe locality to live in?
My replies to this discussion
Yes, Elavala is quite safe to live in. It is quite close to the Infosys training centre, so plenty of young people live in this locality. This area gets good electricity and water supply, since it is close to all the major developmental areas of Mysore.
The Hunsur Road and the Ring Road connect this area with the rest of the city. And there are bus stands, from where buses leave every few minutes for different places around the city. So you wont be facing any problems if you have to commute on your own.Yes, Elavala is quite safe to live in. Q:
How is the water supply in Gundu Rao Nagar?
My replies to this discussion
Water supply condition in Mysore has been pretty poor for the last few years. Due to the sudden influx of population in Mysore, there is a water crisis all over Mysore.
The city gets water supply for about 3-4 hours daily. Sometimes there is no water supply for over a day. So, if you’re planning to move into Gundu Rao Nagr, then you’ll have to be cautious about the water supply. It’s better to store up as much water possible when you are receiving the supply.Water supply condition in Mysore has been pretty poor for the last few years. I’m looking to buy a residential home for my family in the locality of Rama Krishna Nagar. I’m looking at 2 or 3 BHK apartments. How is the Sai Squirrel Oak project in terms of square foot price, location, built-up area, etc?
My replies to this discussion
Hey, the Sai Squirrel Oak is located near the Vishwamanav Double road, close to the Andolan circle. Because of such prime location, you will not have any transportation problems, if you decide to buy a property here. Closest is the Ramakrishna Nagar bus stop, at the Andolan circle. This is one of the posh residential areas of Mysore and there is steady property appreciation in this area. Q:
I am going to be transferred to the Mysore factory of JK Tyres. Are there any good apartments for sale in that locality? What do you people think about the Pratham Prerna apartment project?
My replies to this discussion
The Pratham Prerna is an ideal apartment project for you. It'll take you very little time to travel from work and back home, because of the Ring Road which reduces travel time, and also because there is very less traffic in this area. The area is not too far away from the city centre, and the railway station is only around 5.5 km from the project. Schools such as JSS school, Mahajana PG college, and GSS Engineering college are near the project. A 2BHK apartment in this project will cost Rs. 40 lakhs at Rs. 3350 per sq. foot. The Pratham Prerna is an ideal apartment project for you. Q:
Will property prices appreciate with the construction of Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor?
My replies to this discussion
Hey, the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project consists of many different mini projects. There are plans for a series of integrated townships to be developed in this area. There will be a definite rush for investing in these properties as real estate in Bangalore is rather saturated. People who are hoping to move out of the hustle of the big city would definitely want to consider the townships being constructed under the BMIC project. I think this project will definitely help the real estate scene a lot.Hey, the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project consists of many different mini projects. Q:
Should I invest in real estate near the Devaraja Market?
My replies to this discussion
Hey, the Devaraja Market is more likely to be demolished rather than being refurbished. The construction is really weak and every monsoon season brings about some damage to this heritage structure. So the MCC is planning to completely tear the market down and build it up from scratch. They want to build a bigger parking space. People don’t want to come to this market because of inadequate parking space.
But the shopkeepers are not very happy about this demolition, as they want to retain their shops and they are claiming that they will renovate the shops themselves.
So there is a lot of complications involved with this issue. So I would advise you against investing in this area.

Q:
Do you think investing in a property in Kuvempu Nagar makes sense?
My replies to this discussion
Yea, I think you can invest in Kuvempu Nagar and expect the prices of real estate property in the area to increase in the future. The locality is very close to the main part of Mysore, and it will take hardly 5-10 minutes to travel there. The locality is fast turning into a posh neighbourhood of Mysore which has many amenities and facilities nearby. Although this area has become kind of a posh area, the prices of property in the area are still pretty affordable for many people. Are there any new infrastructure projects in the pipeline in Mysore?
Q:
How is the Mittal Pride apartment? Is it too far from the centre of the city?
My replies to this discussion
Mittal Pride is a new apartment project which is being built in J. P. Nagar in Mysore. The project is not too far from the centre of the city, and is only 7 km from the Mysore Railway Station. Mysore has grown so much that even J. P. Nagar is like an extension of the main part of Mysore. It is located ideally, and there is good connectivity through the Mananthavadi Road and the Link Main Road. The project is located hardly 1 km from the Ashokapuram Railway Station. Are there any layouts planned by MUDA?
My replies to this discussion
Yeah, I think if I remember correctly, there are like 5-6 new layouts which will be developed by MUDA. MUDA, who are responsible for the development of Mysore city have developed many layouts and satellite towns in the past. They are planning to develop a satellite town Kochnahalli and Ballahalli. MUDA have proposed to develop new layouts in Lal Bahadur Shastry Nagar 2nd stage, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Nagar, Ravindranath Tagore Nagar 2nd stage, and Lalitadrinagar 2nd stage. They are already in the process of developing this land as they have acquired some land in Krishnaraja Wadiyar Nagar, Halau and Chowdahalli, and also in Yadahalli village.Yeah, I think if I remember correctly, there are like 5-6 new layouts which will be developed by MUDA. Q:
I've been reading many news articles that say that the roads in Mysore are going to improve? What sort of developmental plans are there? Will this help the real estate to boost up?
My replies to this discussion
You seem to be very optimistic but I'm sorry to inform you that development of these roads is taking place at a snail's pace. Literally! The officials in charge are just very lethargic and like to slack off. Road users will have to grit their teeth and put on a fake smile while using these horrible traffic infested roads. The officials say that the contractors are delaying the work while the contractors say that the payment hasn't been done. It's one excuse after the next with these people. According to me a seperate official should be put in charge of just managing traffic. Why don't people understand the importance of this in the long run?

I recently read in the news that Yadavagiri is going to be a prominent locality for investment. But does the locality face any sort of civic issues?
My replies to this discussion
Yes Yaddavgiri has been known for the dangers during these heavy rains. Even in 2006, when the situation was very bad and there were lack of civic facilities, a man got washed away in an open drain. This has happened multiple times after that. Even though Yaddavgiri is supposed to be one of the better developed places in the city, such civic problems still arise. And sometimes drainage seeps onto the streets making the whole neighbourhood stink! The civic facilities are better now but the residents still need to be very apprehensive when it rains. I heard there were water problems in Bilikere a while ago. Should I not buy a residential house in Vijaya Nagar because of this situation?
My replies to this discussion
It's very sad that the lake is all dried up now and is even polluted to a large extent. There used to be another lake called Billikere Kaval which was also a major source for water and not even a month after monsoon, the lake became completely dry. It is the villagers living by the lake who suffer more than anyone because the lake was also a source of employment for them for fishing and other such activities. The alternate solution was to use the fund from the project to implement employment for villages towards conserving the lakes. It's very sad that the lake is all dried up now and is even polluted to a large extent. I'm new to Siddhartha layout in Mysore and I know nothing about the area. Can someone tell me where the closest airport, railway station and nearby cities are? Any suggestions for apartments?
My replies to this discussion
Hey you're in luck! The closest airport is the Mysore airport and it's 3 kms away from Siddhartha layout. The next closest airport is the Peelamedu airport which is approximately 166 kms away but I doubt you'd ever need to use that airport. There are also many railway stations close by .Closest one would be Mysore junction railway station which is 4 km away, Chamarajapuram railway station and the Mysore new good railway station are both 5 km away and I think the furthest one is called Ashokapuram railway station which is 7 kms away. So it's a good locality with the closest airport and railway station less than 5 kms away. So much agricultural land is there in Mysore that is going to be taken over by indutrialisation and urbanisation. MUDA has plans of extending development to the far outskirts of Mysore. Lot of project delays were there. But now there is new contractor. Work happened in 4 packages. Hey friends, i came to know that mysore which was once known for its individual row of houses is now turning to multi-storied building. Does anyone have any information about this. Please share it with me.
My replies to this discussion
it is true that people always think the better part of it. buying a plot, then constructing a 1200 sq ft house has a great cost actually because of the increase of the labour cost, sand and other construction material cost etc. At this time, people who have plots closer to the city prefer to build flats in the same area in similar dimension.it is true that people always think the better part of it. buying a plot, then constructing a 1200 sq ft house has a great cost actually because of the increase of the labour cost, sand and other construction material cost etc. At this time, people who have plots closer to the city prefer to build flats in the same area in similar dimension.

If you thought 2014 was a slow, you will be blown away by the developments this year. Housing sector particularly will see a huge influx of cash due to the FDI that Modi government has come up with. Also the reduction of red tape and scrapping some unnecessary formalities has given rise to more interested investors. If you thought 2014 was a slow, you will be blown away by the developments this year. Hi, i am a local resident of Mysore and wanted to ask what is the latest news on the central housing project, to rid the city of slums? Any information would be appreciated!
My replies to this discussion
Here is the information you are looking for; The Centre has sanctioned the project to the city to clear 172 slums and to elevate Mysuru as a slum-free city in 10 years. This seems like a reasonable time to me, since there is a large number of slums, and rehabilitation takes time. Here is the information you are looking for; The Centre has sanctioned the project to the city to clear 172 slums and to elevate Mysuru as a slum-free city in 10 years. Hi, I am interested to know more about the progress of the Outer Ring Road in Mysore. If any one knows in detail about the project, please tell me more about that. When will it be over?
My replies to this discussion
Now, you know, the project is going in a slower pace. This hampering of the work is especially to build the storm water drain. I think that the project is likely to be over by around 2 months time. That is calculated to be around towards the end of May.Now, you know, the project is going in a slower pace. This hampering of the work is especially to build the storm water drain. Oh, Mysore is actually a very good place to live. But, you know, like every other city, it also has some problems. Q:
Hello, Now that the financial year is coming to and end what is the amount of taxes that the MCC is going to collect. Do you have any idea?
My replies to this discussion
Property taxes are the civic body's biggest revenue maker, so evidently the MCC launched special drives to collect tax while officials staged a sit-in at a hotel that had to pay dues to the MCC demanding them to pay up.
