I think the reason for this long delay is because the kochi metro rail project is coming in the way of this road widening project. The project had to be completed in order for metro rail work to start but ofcourse that didn't happen.By extending the Petta Vytilla road they'll be able to improve underground drainage and provide parking lots wherever possible. Now certain plans are going on to set up a sewage treatment plant there. but, its not there right now. again, there are some problems with the bridge as the level difference between the bridge and the road is creating problem mostly to motorists. I think one of the best things about this project is its location. Its basically on the river front, right in view of the backwaters, since its located on the Puthiyakavu Kureekkad Road in Tripunithura. i think that the railway connectivity to this region is good. The Binanipuram road connects to the ICT road to connect to the Kalamassery Railway station. It is just 5.6 km from this locality. Earlier there was a problem of high traffic in the Venduruthy Bridge that connected this region to Willingdon Island as well as in the Thoppumpady Bridge.
