Actually that was quite some time ago. Now the services are back again, and most people can use these services. Basically the initial construction work was pretty shoddy so they had to keep on doing regular maintenance. So they decided to take a break and fix the problem completely once and for all. You're right man. For those of who are not familiar with this road, it connects directly to the road leading to Kottayam. Now this one is a much wider road. So what happens is that there is a heavy inflow of traffic down this road, which tends to get stuck in the much narrower Vaikom road, creating a bottleneck. Most of us now have to travel in those stuffy general compartments of long distance trains, which is just too bad. Also, they have cut down on the station security big-time. I would suggest that you move in sometimes around Novemeber. They are saying oct 10th, but these things have a habit of getting delayed. I came to know that most of the passenger traffic is from the Ponekkara side. I got to know about a project plan in which the railways has proposed a ramp to connect both roads.
