Yeah..the booking process is quite simple. First of all, there is a booking charge of rs. 1 lakhs here. Then you will have to pay around 20% of the total cost initially, and then you can pay it installment wise. The thing is, that junction has so much traffic chaos every morning, and on top of that they go and put a level crossing in this area. It is such a tight situation that even ambulances here get trapped for very long time. It is also very dangerous because many accidents have been happening recently. Insufficient rainfall is a cause for the drought but can't the authorities think about water conservation practices like rain water harvesting? Mattancherry is hardly 15 km from Ernakulam. Since you'll be travelling only in the weekends, it won't be an issue as ferries and buses are there. Good news for you because transport facilities are convenient in thrikkakara. even the roads don't have that much traffic. closest railway station is in Edapally, which is about 4 km from here. But cochin international airport is 20 km away but if you go by NH 47, it will get you there pretty fast. The locality had a garbage disposal issue. There were some cases of rampant waste dumping. I think it was basically because the nature of the locality is primarily commercial. The condition at present is not so good. Just Kochi corporation has its own solid waste treatment plant. All the other civic bodies in the district, including municipalities and panchayats, depend on private companies, who just dump all this waste secluded places or some canal.The condition at present is not so good. Hye Gandhi Nagar is right next to the Ernakulam South Junction ! The Ernakulam South Railway Station is only 1 and a half km from here. So there wont be any problem if you want to travel any where outside. And apart from that, there are several bus stops in that area from where you can a catch a bus to the other parts of the city.
And did you guys hear about the Brigade groups big investement in Gandhi Nagar? It is a 4 star hotel with a big budget of around 240 crore rupees and it is said tobe coming up in Gandhi Nagar only. This will bring about sucha a change in the surrounding.

Hye Poonithura is a nice locality to live in. It falls right along the Champakara Canal. It has some very good localities around it also like Maradu and Thrippunitthura, Vikas nagar, Vytilla and Shastri nagar. Yeah, it is just one building block, so it doesnt have that many units under it. Of the units available the 1 bhks are the ones that come with a slight variations in the built-up area sizes. Otherwise it is the same for all 2bhks and the same for all 3bhks.

Hey, this locality which is a part of the Vennala locality is near to some other good residential areas. Some of the good localities near to this locality are Kuthappady, Chakkarapparambu, Thammanam, Palarivattom, etc. There is some very good development going on in this area due to the proximity to the Kochi city.
The connectivity to this region is also pretty good, especially from the city area as well as from Vytilla. The Vytilla Hub is very near to the locality. You see, there is the Salem-Kochi-Kanyakumari Highway passes along this locality. There you can also see some interior roads that connect to the interior parts of the locality such as the Geethanjali Road, Ponnurunni Chalikkavattom Road, etc.

Yeah..one of the important things you should be aware of in when you are planning to settle down in this locality is that the area has a very strategic importance. The connectivity of the region is quite good here. The region of new Kudumbi is very near to the SA Road. This gives better connectivity to the rest of the regions in Kochi. The SA road has also another benefit as it connects to the Salem-Kochi-Kanyakumari region that makes the connectivity even better.

You know the Chilavannur road goes through the centre of the localtiy. This connects to the SA Road eventually providing smooth connectivity to the rest of the city.

It is very famous for the Thoppumpady Bridge that connects the areas of Mattancherry, Fort Kochi, Palluruthy, to Willingdon Island as well as to the city areas of Kadavanthra, Perumanoor and so on. Athani is quite good locality in the Kochi area. You see, this area is quite near to the Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery. This locality is good for residential purposes. But not a great commercial set up has come up in this area. Most of the property that you can find here are individual houses only. Rarely will you find any apartment here.

Exactly, I think that the delay in repair caused much problem. There was a real traffic problem on the new bridge, especially during the opening days of the Kochi Muziris Bienniale which coincided with peak tourist season. I think that the project actually has got assistance from the Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Plan and also with the support of the municipality. Vadavukode is actually, a very calm and quiet locality near to the Kochi city area. It is surrounded by some other similar areas such as Puthenkurish, Vadayampathumala, Peringala, Kadayirippu, Vadayampady, Kolenchery etc. Most of the people here depend upon agriculture also.

I heard somewhere that on Monday revenue officials had completed eviction of all 32 landowners and taken possession of their land. Of the 32 landowners, 10 were evicted forcibly. While the clearance of a revival package for FACT is being delayed indefinitely, it is pointed out that the Rs 991-crore package which was prepared two years ago would not be sufficient now for revival of the cash-strapped fertiliser company which is struggling to survive.

Q: Hey, i saw in the news that the city's municipality is looking for a way to cure the increasing plastic usage problem in the city. Can someone please enlighten me about the same?

Yeah. even i heard that particular news and from what i understood, Tripunithura Municipality has proposed an ambitious project in its budget for 2015-16 to tackle plastic waste menace. A step in the right direction if you ask me.
What exactly will the plan of the municipality entail ?. Thanks for answering.
