The plan was to treat around 40 million litres per day, but in April 2009 the people in that area stopped the construction by filing a case in the court. This went on for four years, and finally in 2012 the TNPCB gave its consent to the corporation to go ahead with the work. Hey there have been some major changes in the garbage disposal system in Coimbatore. Around Rs 98 crore was allotted to the solid waste management scheme in Coimbatore. Under this scheme the corporation is distributing different coloured bins to residents to help them segregate wet and dry waste products. Educating the city’s residents on the benefits and methods of waste segregation is one of the main motives of this scheme. Now the Coimbatore Corporation has started to inspect all the zones in the city to identify all the reserve sites. I think encroachment happened because there wasn't reliable data or files compiled with a list of reserved sites, so the situation wasn't taken very seriously. Inspection has been completed in the south, east and central zones and the rest are to be completed latest by July 15th. Yes, the situation was pretty scary. A lot of children love to swim in wells. They are used to bathing in them as well. That's why many of them starting taking advantage of the abandoned wells just left like that in the locality. The situation got pretty bad. I think 10 wells were identified within police headquarters and there were around 9 deaths and 3 school children ended up losing their lives because of trying to swim in these wells. This needs to be controlled and the wells need to be closed up or something before more people get hurt. Police and authorities should take action to prevent such unfortunate deaths. The Coimbatore Railways Struggle Committee realizes that the upgradation of the Mettupalayam railway station which is very close to Ganapathy, will substantially ease the traffic congestion as well as railway lined burdened at the Coimbatore Railways Junction. Additionally, put lines are expected to be sanctioned to ensure train maintenance primarily for new trains that start from Coimbatore. There are currently only three pit lines for maintenance at the railway stations of Madurai and Trichy.Hello. Gandhipuram is a promising locality which offers lots of investment opportunities. road connectivity is very good. Gandhipuram is about 14 km from the Coimbatore Airport and about 5 km from city Railway Station, 3 km from Coimbatore North Junction and 15 km from Podanur Railway Station. Gandhipuram is about 14 km from the Coimbatore Airport and about 5 km from city Railway Station, 3 km from Coimbatore North Junction and 15 km from Podanur Railway Station. Nanjanapuram Road runs through the centre of this area and it is well connected to local bus services in the area which will take you to any part of the city. All in all I think it is a very good locality.

It was during the DMK regime. But I think the project got scrapped once the government changed hands in 2011. Though we have managed to make it through easily, we didn’t get the perks of the huge development that was promised. We were expecting a number of high income jobs in the city. So we invested in a number of high profile residential projects, only to find later on that there weren’t enough takers for those. Yes I agree with him. Unfortunately even in Ramanathapuram we are not away from the encroachment problems. This used to be a really nice and safe residential locality, with lots of open spaces. But not so any more, because of all these unauthorised constructions cropping up everywhere. For example, there used to be a playground in T. Nagar in ward 67. But now there is the Ramanathapuram Cooperative house building society office is here instead. Also a studio, a dance school and a printing press here, all unauthorised, leaving no space at all for the kids to play here.Unfortunately even in Ramanathapuram we are not away from the encroachment problems. This year is just as successful for investing as last year. But there are more issues that Coimbatore has to deal with ofcourse. Especially the infrastructural development that needs to finish asap. People want their money's worth and whatever said and done, Coimbatore still faces a slow rate of development as comparied to other cities. There are pros and cons but for now, property value is cheap and it isn't going to stay that way for very long. Surprisingly though, the highest demand is for villas by IT professionals and 1000 sq. ft apartments by senior citizens. Yeah see because of the work not being completed, everyone had to take the flyover route (it was the only road that was open). This created so much of a traffic jam on the bridge that vehicles had to standstill for hours. Literally hours. That's not the worst part. The Coimbatore Corporation, for the repair work, had to link the northern part of the storm drain to the southern side. But they've actually abandoned the work and the pit has just been lying open from that time. Now this is not only extremely unhygienic and unsanitary but is also so unsafe! There have actually been accidents as people see the pit in the last minute and turn sharply to the right or left to avoid it. Seriously it's about time Coimbatore spends more time and money on such important aspects of basic living in the city. People living around the area in Vilankurichi and Kalapatti village would take this road to reach Sathy road. This stretch used to amount to a long and tiring journey and that's when 3 brothers decided to start the thaneerpandal in this area. So that whoever passes by will have access to good water. But, my only fear with land or plot purchases is the land frauds that take place these days or the legal issues that people face. I suggest that try your best to find a good deal with like a reputed builder or something, because they are more secure than buying individual land from random individuals. I have heard of one such project called Green Fields by Greens property dealers. But, I’m really sorry I don’t know any project detail. True, connectivity wise you don’t have to worry at all. Many buses and autos available throughout the day. I’m sure you've heard of the GRD college in Coimbatore. That is located in this area only, so there are many amenities available in the area.The Kovai Medical Center is also in this area only along with many other big hospitals. Because of all these institutions, you will find many hotels, restaurants. There are couple of nice pubs also here. Well, as a part of this project, the government will be acquiring a lot of farm lands from these farmers. The farmers never get the actual land’s worth from the Government, so it’s only natural that they will protest. I think the Green activists are right in a way. Allowing vehicles will only do damage to the lake and the water, maybe just walkway is a good idea. The link road connecting Sathyamangalam Road with Thudiyalur Road is something that should happen on a priority basis. I don't think this has anything to do with infrastructure. because for a tier 2 city, Coimbatore is really doing well for itself. I read that the national highway authorities officer released a statement that these construction companies couldn't build the funds to invest in the promised project and got 2 years delay sanction. Yes boss. It is true that the project is gaining momentum. Last week only the main change was felt. They demolished the foot bridge that is there in Gandhipuram signal. Yes i agree with the comment below me, and would like to add that using this method, the strengthening can be done without draining water and will not affect the fish in the water body. I wanted to tell you that the Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan has directed the Directorate of Medical Education to submit proposals for addressing the shortcomings pointed out by the Council. An Empowered Committee of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had met in New Delhi recently and approved the State Government proposal for capacity addition in the four colleges.I wanted to tell you that the Health Secretary J. Oh yeah..I think that this program will start by the end of April. I came to know that the program will be mostly organized under the initiative of the DRDO.
