Last year the Kochi Corporation proposed to renovate markets like Pattalam, Koovappadam, Amaravathi, and Thoppumpady under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The Ernakulam market and the Broadway project were also proposed to be renovated. The authorities have proposed to renovate the structures of these age-old markets, which includes the renovation of the fish and mutton market buildings in a few of these markets. Abduction cases are actually very few, and police security is also being tightened during the peak hours and at night, when most of these crimes happen. However, these crimes can be easily avoided if you just take some precautions and be aware. A large extent of these mishaps occur due to carelessness and neglect. Now all people want swimming pool and club house in their apartment complex. The maintencnace costs especially have shot up because of this. But even though rent in other places in Kochi like Chottanikkara, Panangad and Vaduthala, is cheaper, only few people are interested. And many people are thinking that the rent was artificially created by real estate brokers but that is definitely not true. People prefer to be closer to main roads, in places with good infrastructures. So demand for property there is always high but supply is low. This water pipe burst happened in the end of August last year. It gave everybody quite a big headahce. The Kerela Water Authorities had stated that they had checked the Aluva pipes for any leakage but they found none. Yet in some places the pipes did burst and Aroor was one of them. Other localities had it worse though because atleast in Aroor immediate temporary work could be done. The KWA replaced the 3 to 4 inch gap in the Aroor - Kumbalam pipes with clamps. This brought recognition to the health campain, the prevention of the spread of communicable diseases, cleanliness campaign and the safety campaign. This was to bring down the civic issues that the locality was facing. Needless to say, it was a job well done! Since then Perumbavoor has ben facing some problems like insufficient water supply but almost all places in kochi face this problem. The authorities are claiming that there will be no more electricity loss during supply, which means that more electricity for the residents of Kochi, and less powercuts! Hope that happens. This matter initially came to the attention of the authorities after they received a number of complaints about buildings in those localities which were violating all kinds of building rules. They were tipped off that the buildings were issued permits without even proper inspections done. On further investigation they discovered that many of those buildings have exceeding the floor limit and the area per floor limit. As a result the parking spaces were created a lot smaller than they were in the building plans. In some cases, there were no parking spaces at all.Yes he’s right. They still need to get land aquisition and all that but administrative department has already agreed to the project. The 15 metre road is being widened to 26 m and 7.5 metres wide on either side. Median is to be 4 metres and footpaths on either side 1.5 metres. The chairman of GCDA has already stated that they can't possibly go around demolishing these buildings so that's why they can't take up the project. But I remember the authorities did retake the project of works on Chilavanoor Bund Road 25 years later after it was initated. So hopefully the authorities will take up similar delayed projects. I don't really know about the project but I know that the corporation had major plans for road diversions because of the traffic congestion that is there in many roads. Buses are now diverted through inroads so that the Palarivattom Kaloor stretch can be eased from heavy traffic flow. There was literally no space for buses to move and because of this they had to be diverted to Thammanam-Pulleppady road. Buses had no space because of the ongoing metro rail project in the area. This public transport facility has already attracted many investors and property prices have risen in those areas. And then ofcourse, Smart City! A huge business centre that is to open in 2015 and by 2020 it would generate about 90,000 jobs. All is not lost! FACT has said that they would continue water supply scheme in Eloor for one more year. Jan 15 was when this project had to stop to allow Kerela Water Authority to take over but because the other companies had limited funds, the water supply had stopped. But FACT had to continue the water supply under all circumstances. So KWA would have to use the water being pumped from Kalamassery under the Kochi water supply scheme exclusively for Eloor after this period is over. Right now the water from Kalamassery is being split between Eloor and Varapuzha and both regions don't have adequate drinking water. Motorists and car drivers protested against this toll because in 2001 Gammon ltd was asking for a multiple toll fee that they would have to pay everytime they passed the toll booth. But some cars had to take multiple trips a day, so they had a huge problem with paying that amount as it adds to their operational expense. The UDF government actually wanted to extend this toll collection for 6 years more but then thankgod the LDF government decided that toll would end as per the agreement. I read that the GCDA are thinking of restoring this old bridge as a tourist attraction spot. Currently it is closed to public. I completely agree. The budget also failed to mention how the switch from regular domestic gas to natural gas would be made throughout the state. Yes the GCDA think that the wooden planks in the middle of the bridge have really worn out and in terrible condition, needing immediate repair or replacement. I think that was part of the problem. The high sale price along with a 12% service charge, and other taxes, registration and all that, was the reason why the public wasn’t showing interest in these properties. It would have been a great source of income as well for the district administration, which in turn would have helped them maintain this part of this city. Yes, I read that the outer harbour project involves the construction of two breakwaters on both sides of the approach channel of the port, off Puthuvypeen in north and off Fort Kochi in the south, with associated land masses on both sides. The land that is being developed on the North side of the approach channel will only used for shipping activities and trade itseems. I am from Thrissur and my husband is from Trivandrum. We are currently in Saudi and planning to settle in Ernakulam after few years.
We have slowly started going through various projects and came across, this Anna Properties - Casa Bonitta 2, the elevation and structure which we liked very much.
But, we are a novice in this field and neither of us have a clue as to how reputed this builders are. So, I would like you people to help us out.
The property is a villa in Puthenkurish, Tripunithura and they are asking Rs.4200/sqft. Is it a reasonable price?

Yes. I live nearby. I found out that the NH 47 stretch near the Edapally area if being worked upon as a buildings are taken apart on both the sides to work upon a 4 lane highway.
